VIC MONTHLY UPDATE:

At this time, the VIC would like to introduce Janet Lee.  Janet is one of our highly decorated resident Pro Coaches.

Janet Lee has her Gold Medals in Figures and Freestyle, was trained by some of the biggest names in the sport, Wanda Guntert, Cathy Casey,  John Nicks,  Leny Rochester-Kane,  Ronnie Robertson,  just to name a few.  Competitively,  Janet has too many to list,  so here are a few,  Senor Lady Regional Champion, National and World Professional Competitor, and  Star of Ice Capades.  Janet was and still is  famous for her difficult Cantilevered move (a dangerous trick,  requiring the skater to skate while leaning far back,  head nearly touching the ice).  She coaches many USFS skaters including a Junior National Competitor and Adult National Competitors.

Here's some thing you probably didn't know about Janet.  Janet used to be a regular performer for the Ice Capades.

Not the best of images (that's for sure) but, I think you get the point.  Yep, she used to be a line-dancer on ice...Hmmm (enter long awkward pause here)...Usually I'd throw in some kind of good burn about now but, if this one doesn't speak for itself then, nothing ever will.  Ice Capades...sweet...

Janet is also a licensed dog kennel operator.  Sometimes she brings her dogs to the facility and tries to find them new homes.  So, if you're looking for a new puppy, let her know.

Now if that doesn't make your heart sore like a hawk, you have no soul.

Showcase for Skaters - 2008

At this time, the VIC would like to acknowledge Jacqueline "Jackie" Nieto.

Jacqueline Nieto (age 6) competed yesterday at the Showcase for Skaters competition hosted by the Los Angeles Figure Skating club.  She skated the light entertainment event pre star 1 level.  Against 5 other little girls, she placed first and was a contender for the Joanne Funakoshi award which is for the best theatrical performance.  This award is given from the results of the final repeat performance at the end of competition.  The re-skate was only open to 1st place medal winners.  She is a talented little girl with a passion for the ice.
